FAQ
Why See a Counselor for Ayurveda, Jyotish & Yoga Therapy?
They help you explore your health, emotions, life patterns, and spiritual path through three deeply interconnected Vedic sciences. It’s a holistic approach that works on the physical, mental, emotional, and karmic levels to support your healing and transformation.
Jyotisha, the Eye of the Vedas, illumines the path of life, helping us see not only where we are, but where we are going. As one of the sacred sister sciences alongside Yoga and Ayurveda, Jyotisha reveals the way; Ayurveda sustains our health along it; and Yoga—through its many limbs—teaches us how to walk it with awareness.
Rooted in the same philosophical soil, these three sciences are not separate streams but interwoven threads of one greater tapestry. Jyotisha can guide an individual toward the form of Yoga most aligned with their nature, and support the creation of an Ayurvedic lifestyle that protects vitality and guards against disease—even those not yet manifest.
It is a vast and subtle science, for it seeks to interpret life itself—and life is no simple matter. To walk the path of Jyotisha is to enter into deep study over many years, gradually opening the inner eye to the profound interconnectedness of all things in this living, breathing, synchronous cosmos.
How is this different from seeing a regular therapist or doctor?
Rather than treating just symptoms, this approach addresses the root causes of imbalance. It combines ancient wisdom with personalized tools to help you understand who you are, what you’re experiencing, and how to move forward in alignment with your unique constitution and soul path.
Why would I want to include Jyotish (Vedic astrology) in counseling?
Jyotish offers insight into your deeper patterns, karmic lessons, and life cycles. It
helps answer questions like:
Why do certain challenges keep repeating?
What is my purpose (dharma)?
When is the best time to make a change or focus on healing?
When the soul loses sight of its direction, even the smallest choices can feel like mountains.
Kamala Devi offers not just guidance, but reflection—drawing upon the ancient light of Vedic wisdom and the grounded presence of coaching to help you see yourself clearly once more.
With insight into your innate strengths and the unseen patterns that shape your life, she helps you untangle the knots of confusion, dissolve the obstacles that bind you, and step with purpose toward the path of your highest becoming.
What might a Life Coaching session look like?
Sessions are very personal. They may include:
– A discussion of your current challenges and goals
– Insights from your Jyotish chart
– Ayurvedic suggestions for food, herbs, or lifestyle
– A customized yoga or breathwork practice
– Emotional or spiritual counseling
– Ancestral remedies and healing solutions of your paternal or maternal bloodline
– Fasting remedies on certain day
– Donation remedies may be given
All with the intention of helping you move toward balance, clarity, and purpose.
Why do you ask for dates of past events? Isn’t Jyotiṣh about predicting the events?
It may seem paradoxical that we ask for dates of past events when many expect Jyotish (Vedic astrology) to focus solely on predicting the future. However, past events are the key to accuracy. Jyotish relies on a precise birth chart as its foundation, and rectifying your birth time—by aligning it with significant moments in your life—ensures that predictions and remedies are reliable and effective.
What is rectification, and why is it important?
Rectification is the process of fine-tuning your birth time by comparing it to major life events, such as career changes, relationships, or significant milestones. This step is essential for creating an accurate astrological chart that aligns with your unique journey. Without this process, insights and predictions may lack the precision needed for meaningful guidance.
What are astrological remedies, and how do they work?
Remedies are practical, personalized tools to help balance the planetary influences in your life. These may include bringing awareness on certain aspects, mantras, rituals, or practical lifestyle changes all designed to bring alignment and support your personal growth. Remedies are an integral part of Jyotisa’s approach to empowering individuals.
How is Vedic astrology different from Western astrology?
Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, which accounts for the shifting of the Earth’s axis, whereas Western astrology relies on the tropical zodiac. Jyotish also places a strong emphasis on karma, remedies, and spiritual evolution, offering a deeply holistic and practical perspection.
I had a consultation before, can I book another one?
Life is dynamic, and so is jyotiṣh. If you’ve had a consultation before and wish to address new questions or changes, you can book another consultation. If you just have one pressing question, follow-up reading is for you.
What does Yoga Therapy add to this process?
Yoga Therapy uses gentle, tailored practices—postures, breathwork, mantra, and meditation—to support your nervous system, process emotions, and reconnect with your body. It’s not a workout; it’s medicine for your whole being.
Yoga Therapy meets us where we are—using breath, movement, and meditative awareness to reconnect body and mind, realign energy, and release what is held in the tissues. Only when the mind is calm and prana flowing freely, can we begin to truly listen—to hear the quiet voice of the higher Self calling us home.
What can Ayurveda help me with in this setting?
Ayurveda helps you understand your unique mind-body type (dosha) and how to care for yourself accordingly. It offers tools like food, herbs, and daily routines to support:
– When we want to walk the path of the higher Self, the body must become aworthy vessel.
-When the physical body is burdened by imbalance or illness, our energy turns inward—not for reflection, but for repair. Our vision becomes clouded, our will weakened, and the higher pursuits of life—clarity, devotion, purpose fade into the background.
Through Ayurveda, we purify and strengthen the body, calm the mind, and restore harmony to the inner world. In doing so, we create the conditions for deeper awareness to unfold. Only when the body is well can the soul fully rise to meet its calling.
